Her son, Jeff Lundberg, will serve as president and chief executive officer for the Santa Maria, Calif., grower-shipper.
Chris Cordero has been named vice president, reporting to Jeff Lundberg. Among other roles at Babé Farms, he was previously vice president of operations and sales.
“It is the next logical step in our family business,” Lundberg-Wafer said in a news release of the changes. “Jeff has grown up working at Babé Farms and understands all levels of the operation and business.”
LundbergBesides serving as chairman, Lundberg-Wafer plans to travel and spend time off with her grandchildren. She’s a third-generation grower. Her father ran a ranch in the Lompoc Valley, where Judy worked in the fields. In the early 1960s the family moved to the Santa Maria Valley.
She and her late husband Frank Lundberg became partners with her father. In the early 1980s both worked for Souza & Boster Farming, forming Babé Farms in 1986.
Cordero’s great uncle, Will Souza, was the primary founder of Babé Farms in partnership with Judy and Frank Lundberg and Greg and Cherrie Pedigo.
