Backyard Farms adds chef spokeswoman

Backyard Farms LLC is employing television chef Mary Ann Esposito as its spokeswoman to help promote recipes using its greenhouse tomatoes.

In the partnership, the chef plans to create original tomato-focused recipes and tips via digital and social media for the Madison, Maine-based Backyard Farms, according to a news release.

Esposito hosts “Ciao Italia,” one of the longest running television cooking shows in the U.S.

As the greenhouse grower-shipper’s spokeswoman, Esposito also plans to accompany Backyard Farms at promotional events throughout the year, according to the release.

The two will work on a series of online cooking demonstrations involving the chef using Backyard Farms’ tomatoes and her culinary expertise in preparing different tomato varietals, according to the release.

Backyard Farms plans to host the videos on its Website, http://www.backyardfarms.com, as well on an upcoming YouTube channel, according to the release.

Esposito said she often uses Backyard Tomatoes and said tomatoes remain a staple in Italian cuisine staple, Esposito said in the release.

Backyard Farms is honored to work with “such an incredibly experienced and respected, top-notch Italian chef on our team” and fans of Backyard Farms’ tomatoes can now experience the fruit in new ways, Tim Cunniff, executive vice president of sales and marketing, said in the release.
