The Guadalupe, Calif.-based grower-shipper grows the artichoke, a perennial, mostly in the state’s Lompoc and Santa Maria valleys.
They’re packed in sizes 12, 15, 18, 24 and 30. Four-count bags and long stem size 18s are also available. After peak season, harvesting continues through November.
Beachside Produce markets the artichoke for large size, meaty leaves and a nutty flavored heart.
“I recommend ordering early as the demand for our premium Lyon artichoke almost always exceeds supply,” commodity manager Bob Montgomery said in a news release.
The company also grows and ships broccoli, brussels sprouts, cauliflower, celery, lettuce, kale, cilantro and strawberries.
