“We’re thrilled to have Steve on board,” Chris Puentes, president of Orange, Calif.-based Interfresh said in a news release. “I’ve known Steve both personally and professionally for nearly 30 years. His knowledge of citrus and customer service skills are unmatched, and it’s great to be working together after all this time.”
Beyer’s primary responsibility at Interfresh will be to expand the company’s citrus grower and customer base, according to the release. He will offer Interfresh’s other core commodities to a national customer base.
Beyer said his past associations with Interfresh executives will be a plus.
“After having worked with Darryl Anderson, Ed Morrison and Terry Iles (Interfresh division directors) during the heyday at Perricone Citrus, and (having) been friends with Chris Puentes and Craig Smith for over 25 years, it is with great pleasure that I join the other produce professionals at Interfresh,” he said.
In addition to citrus, berries, melons, and avocados, Interfresh handles corn, asparagus, pineapple, yams, sweet potatoes, tomatoes, bell peppers, cucumbers, and grapes.
