The snow storm and blizzard that disrupted the Northeast forced the New England Produce Council to reschedule its annual dinner and dance.
A couple of days before the planned event, the Burlington, Mass.-based council decided to postpone the Feb. 9 social event to March 23 at the same venue, the Fairmont Copley Plaza.
“There was a state of emergency in place and a driving ban, so you couldn’t drive even if you wanted to,” said Laura Sullivan, the council’s executive director.
Sullivan said the council rescheduled for guests’ safety.
Up to 230 people preregistered which included attendees from Florida, Georgia and New Jersey.
