Celebrity spokesperson Clinton Kelly and the National Mango Board launched the Mangover marketing campaign on May 2.

The campaign is intended to encourage consumers to add fresh mango to their meals.

Kelly is the co-host of TLC’s “What Not to Wear” and ABC’s “The Chew.”

Kelly appeared on the Rachel Ray Show on May 1 to demonstrate mango cutting and prepare recipes.

“The Mangover program is designed to illustrate how mango’s versatile taste and year-round availability make it an easy upgrade for meals and snacks,” Megan McKenna, marketing director of the National Mango Board, said in a news release. “Through a mix of high profile media attention from Clinton Kelly, fun consumer events, creative social media content and strong coverage in national magazines, we hope mango becomes everyone’s go-to ingredient.”

The board has scheduled meetings with importers and wholesalers this week. The Los Angeles, Calif. industry outreach meeting began at noon on May 7 at Coast Tropical Building, Produce Market, 1601 E.
