Bryant Christie Inc. hired Joe Hain as manager of international regulatory affairs at the Sacramento, Calif. office.
Hain works with government officials, foreign and domestic, and Bryant Christie clients to resolve sanitary, phytosanitary and technical trade barriers on U.S. agricultural exports, according to a news release.
Previously, Hain worked for the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Foreign Agricultural Service for more than 20 years.
Hain was deputy director, managing the group that led USDA trade policy for the $45 billion processed products export market.
As a result of Hain’s work, he received the Secretary’s Honor Award for excellence in achieving strategic objectives, the FAS Export Expansion Award for the Great American Food Show-Korea, and the Trade Policy Teamwork Award for work on China and Taiwan, according to the release.
