C.H. Robinson has donated $20,000 to a nonprofit that helps truckers afford fuel-efficient technologies.
Eden Prairie, Minn.-based C.H. Robinson’s matching donation will help Eugene, Ore.-based Cascade Sierra Solutions provide fuel- and emissions-reducing technologies to small trucking companies, according to a C.H. Robinson press release.
Since 2006, Cascade Sierra Solutions has provided financing and grant assistance to upgrade or replace more than 11,000 older, less efficient vehicles.
“Cascade Sierra Solutions’ work around the use of clean technology to increase fuel efficiency and reducing carbon impact benefits us all,” Mark Walker, senior vice president of C.H. Robinson, said in the release. “Helping extend the range of donations made to CSS will make a measurable difference towards improving the environmental impact of our industry.”
