C.H. Robinson, Eden Prairie, Minn., is furthering their European reach with a new office in Basel, Switzerland. The Basel office follows a string of over 50 C.H. Robinson offices established in Europe over the past 20 years.
Strategically located at a crossroads of European markets, the new office sits at the borders of Switzerland, France and Germany. The staff at the office are focusing on new sales, account management and account operations in the region.
Ildiko Gergely, who began her career with C.H. Robinson at the Syracuse, N.Y., office in 2000, will run the Swiss office. She also opened the company’s Budapest, Hungary office in 2002.
Other changes in the company’s European branch include the appointments of Bryan Foe as president of Europe, Gary York as director of sourcing for Europe and Ivo Aris as director of European global forwarding.
C.H. Robinson also acquired Apreo Logistics S.A., and opened offices in Rotterdam, The Netherlands and Istanbul, Turkey.
