The trade show ran Feb. 5-8 at the Messe Berlin conference center.

Monza is a quick-growing variety of the leafy green.

“Cadiz is a cilantro with compact habit and nice big, dark green leaves, which has a consistently good flavor,” Craig Thomas, commercial manager, said in a news release. “Bolting tolerance — an important factor for coriander growers — is strong.”

CN Seeds expects to gain ground in United Kingdom, Scandinavian, Australian and New Zealand markets with its babyleaf kale, which has already appeared in the U.S. Microwaveable packs will be available in United Kingdom supermarkets in early 2014, according to the company.

United Kingdom and Europe commercial trials for a babyleaf kale variety, Jagallo Nero, are expected to begin in 2015. Its leaves have a serrated shape.

CN Seeds has ties to the second place finisher for Fruit Logistica’s innovation award – Home Harvest Salads, for its Oriental salad. The product uses several CN varieties.

The company sought out new markets at the trade show, contacting growers from New Zealand, Kazakhstan and Iran among other places.

“The show seems to attract more customers from our home turf, U.K. and Ireland, every year, but for us the opportunity to meet with growers from all over the globe is invaluable,” Thomas said in the release.
