California Giant adds logistics manager

BertoneCalifornia Giant Berry Farms, Watsonville, Calif., hired Gary Bertone as logistics manager.

Bertone manages all prepaid freight for customers, tracks daily rates and negotiates agreements with carriers, according to a news release.

In the newly created position, he works with the sales staff and provides support as the company expands domestically and internationally, the release said.

Before joining California Giant, Bertone worked for Champ Logistics and Capurro Marketing, performing similar duties. He has 33 years industry experience and has worked with carriers on a national basis.

“He was able to hit the ground running as we enter peak berry season and is already showing great results for us”, Bill Moncovich, president and chief executive officer, said in the release.
