California Giant Berry FarmsBerry cocktails and pie-making tips were on offer to Urban Girl Squad members at a New York City social event sponsored by California Giant Berry Farms.

Blogger Coryanne Ettiene served up the cocktails, including fresh strawberry daiquiris, at the GE Monogram Design Center April 23. Chef Tagere Southwell showed each guest how to make a pie crust from scratch.

The event was filmed. Video is expected to appear on Ettiene’s blog and on California Giant’s social media, according to a news release.

Guests left with their own pie-dough and recipes, plus three pies baked with California Giant berries. The Watsonville, Calif.-based grower-shipper also had a berry buffet for guests to sample.

Urban Girl Squad is a networking group for New York City women in their 20s and 30s, founded by Amanda Hofman.

“This is one of the many ways we are connecting with our consumer this year,” Cindy Jewell, California Giant director of marketing, said in the release.
