California Giant Berry Farms’ cycling team topped the men’s under-23 standings at the U.S. Cyclocross National Championship races in Boulder, Colo.
Logan Owen of the California Giant team won the Jan. 11 event at Valmont Bike Park. It’s his first year in the ages 19 to 22 competition after taking eight national titles as a junior. Teammates Yannick Eckmann and Cody Kaiser finished second and third, respectively, and Tobin Ortenblad was fifth. Eckmann finished just 10 seconds behind Owen.
In women’s action, California Giant Cycling’s Elle Anderson and Meredith Miller took second and third, respectively, for podium finishes in the elite section. Anderson was dubbed the “next best woman in cyclocross,” according to a news release.
The California Giant team is scheduled to represent the U.S. Feb. 1-2 at the UCI Cyclocross World Championships in Hoogerheide, Netherlands.
