Windset Farms has completed a 64-acre expansion of its greenhouses in Santa Maria, Calif., doubling its size.
All 128 acres are in production.
“With our greenhouses now fully operational and in production, we are able to supply even more of our customers with U.S.-grown tomatoes and cucumbers,” Steven Newell, chief executive officer for Delta, British Columbia-based Windset Farms, said in a news release.
The company produces tomatoes on the vine, beefsteak, campari, grape tomatoes, roma, and specialty tomatoes year-round in Santa Maria for delivery across the U.S. and Canada.
Besides Santa Maria, Windset Farms operates greenhouses in Abbotsford, B.C.; and Las Vegas. In addition to tomatoes and cucumbers, the company produces peppers, lettuce, eggplant and endive.
