The help wanted sign is out for food safety auditors in Canada.

The CanadaGAP On-Farm Food Safety Program is in need of auditors who are qualified to audit fruit and vegetable farms, according to a news release from the group.

A Sept. 24-28 CanadaGAP Auditor Training Course in Toronto will provide prospective candidates with the opportunity to become certified, according to the news release.

QMI-SAI Global, a certification body for the CanadaGAP program, will conduct the five-day training course in September. The course includes a review of On-Farm Food Safety Program manual requirements, including examples specific to commodity types and regions.

An optional overview unit on Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point programs also is offered with the course.

To register, or for more information for the course, contact Maryana Glavan, training coordinator for QMI-SAI Global, at (416) 401-8708 or Maryana.glavan@qmi-saiglobal.com.
