Carrier Transicold, Athens, Ga., has created EcoForward technologies, a transport refrigeration unit and generator set.
The units were made for compliance with Environmental Protection Agency diesel emissions standards, which change in 2013, according to a news release.
The EcoForward technologies can reduce engine power by up to 20%. Trailer refrigeration improvements include a 5% to 20% reduction in fuel consumption compared to previous models, according to the release.
“EcoForward technologies are an important milestone in Carrier Transicold’s continuous product development for transport refrigeration customers,” said President David Appel, in a news release.
The EcoForward technology units will be available in limited quantities by the end of the year and fully available in 2013.
