The Chilean Avocado Importers Association is enlisting a popular chef to help consumers better prepare dishes with the growers’ fruit.

On Oct. 11, the Washington, D.C.-based organization plans to sponsor an interactive culinary demonstration with Ingrid Hoffman.

During the 45-minute presentation, the author, celebrity chef and cable television food channel host is scheduled to prepare four dishes: mango tomatillo guacamole, an “avocadolicious” dip and sandwich spread, a farmers’ market roasted vegetable salad served in avocado bowls, and the spicy “vuelve a la vida” shrimp cocktail, according to a news release.

Scheduled for 2 p.m. eastern time at, the session plans to allow viewer questions.
