The Chilean Avocado Importers Association’s recent satellite media tour with celebrity chef Ingrid Hoffmann gained the association an audience of about 4 million consumers.
The holiday-themed guest spots aired on 124 television and 21 radio segments, including Spanish-language media.
“Ingrid’s culinary expertise, warm personality and genuine passion for Chilean Hass Avocados made her the perfect spokesperson to share seasonal holiday tips and recipes,” said Maggie Bezart, the association’s marketing director, in a news release. “The satellite media tour was also a natural extension of the family nutrition public service announcements that Ingrid recorded (in November), which we distributed to 400 Hispanic radio stations nationwide.”
Hoffmann shared recipes keyed to the small plate trend, including “Yummy Avocado Sopita,” “Avocado and Corn Tostaditas” and “Vuelve La Vida Shrimp Cocktail.”
The Spanish-language public service announcements featuring Hoffmann are expected to run through the end of the Chilean avocado season, in March, said CAIA spokeswoman Sue Kennedy.
