Business is growing for Chelan Fresh Fruit Marketing and so is the staff.
Tim Evans, general sales manager for the Chelan, Wash.-based company, said both domestic and export sales are up.
“We see a lot of export potential with apples and pears,” Evans said Dec. 27. “We are trying to staff up to provide the best service to our growing customer base.”
Evans said Chelan Fresh Fruit ships about 12% of the state’s fresh apples and pears. The company is also growing its cherry program to meet customer demand, he said.
To serve domestic customers, Chelan added salesman Paeton Bangart and three sales assistants: Patty Merrill, Denise Hinkley and Brandon Botts.
In the company’s export sales office, Chelan recently added two sales assistants: Mario Camacho and Gustavo Maldonado. The company also promoted Esther Covarrubias to domestic saleswoman. She was previously a sales assistant in the export office.
To help further grow Chelan’s business, the company hired a new marketing coordinator in late November. Kathryn Grandy previously worked for Gebbers Farms, Brewster, Wash., which is one of Chelan’s partner farms.
Grandy said as marketing coordinator for Chelan she will handle content management and help develop marketing strategies.
