The campaign is set for October, which is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. For every case of produce sold from Ruthven, Ontario-based Clifford Produce, the company will match retailer donations of up to 50 cents per case of produce up to $50,000, according to a new release.
Clifford president Chris Jacobs said in the release that the company is working with retailers in advance to help set up and publicize the promotion so that it will generate as much money as possible for the cancer foundation.
During the October promotion, Clifford’s packaging will be marked with a pink ribbon and will include the slogan “Clifford Produce. Every package means a difference.” Jacobs said in the release that breast cancer is diagnosed in 1 in 8 women.
