Phoenix-based food broker Co-Sales Co. is beefing up its fresh produce program with a recent merger.

Co-Sales has merged with Scottsale, Ariz.-based broker Cashman-Edwards Inc., and Cashman-Edwards’ Andrew Cashman is now Co-Sales’ director of produce, according to a Co-Sales news release.

“We are very excited to expand our long history of broker excellence into the produce/fresh market,” Don Cox, Co-Sales’ chief executive officer, said in the release. “We are also pleased that Andy Cashman and his team will help Co-Sales lead and develop our produce/fresh division.”

Cashman said he also looked forward to the opportunities created by the two companies joining forces.

“Cashman-Edwards Inc. and its principals are very excited for the opportunity to join the well-established and respected organization of Co-Sales,“ Cashman said in the release.

Co-Sales is a member of BeaconUnited, a joint venture of eight U.S.-based food brokers.
