Approximately 350 guests attended the event to benefit the “I love 5 to 10 servings a day” campaign that is designed to raise consumer awareness about the importance of eating more fruits and vegetables.
The event was sponsored by Chenail Fruits and Vegetables, Montreal, and included a buffet.
The Association presented four scholarships totaling $5,000 to the winners of a recipe contest using fruits or vegetables grown in Quebec. Contestants were final‐year students at the Quebec Institute of Tourism and Hotel Management.
At the end of the poker tournament, $11,850 in winnings were shared among nine people.
The event helped raise more than $20,000 for the “I love 5 to 10 servings a day” campaign.
