Colorful Harvest is auctioning a strawberry guitar online to benefit the Academy of Country Music’s charity, Lifting Lives.
The guitar was autographed by country music artists at the Academy’s April awards show in Las Vegas. The auction began Memorial Day on Facebook and ends June 17, according to a news release.
Autographs include Scotty McCreery, the Academy’s new artist of the year winner; the Eli Young Band, song of the year winner; and Sarah Evans. Nine artists and bands signed.
Salinas, Calif.-based Colorful Harvest also donated a cowboy boot guitar to the Academy at the awards show. In a previous online auction, that model earned more than $3,200 for Lifting Lives. Both guitars are produced by Musical Harvest.
“Our goal is to top the ACM’s fund raising with the support of our produce industry fan base,” Doug Ranno, chief operating officer of Colorful Harvest, said in the release. “Agriculture and country music share the same roots, so it makes sense to team up for a good cause.”
Musical Harvest is also Ranno’s company.
Lifting Lives benefits the Make-A-Wish Foundation, the Diane Holcomb Emergency Relief Fund and other organizations.
Colorful Harvest has raised funds with Musical Harvest guitars for various organizations, including The Food Allergy and Anaphylaxis Network and The San Francisco Junior Giants.
