Company donates $12,000 in fuel to Ag Against Hunger

The Salinas Valley nonprofit will use it to run two refrigerated trailers and a flatbed truck, according to a news release. The vehicles pick up produce donations from growers, shippers and processors in Monterey, Santa Cruz and San Benito counties.

“We are glad we could be a part of Ag Against Hunger’s fight to help the needy in our community,” Jon Fanoe, president of Sturdy Oil, said in the release.

Last year, Ag Against Hunger distributed more than 12 million pounds of fresh vegetables and fruit to food banks in the three counties, elsewhere in California and the West coast.
