Survey results will sold at the May 14-16 United Fresh Produce Association convention in San Diego, according to a news release from United Fresh, Washington, D.C.
The survey is open now until April 5 at www.unitedfreshsurvey.com to any U.S. or Canadian-based produce industry employer, according to the release.
The compensation survey, first issued in 2011, has been updated to include tracking salaries for three new positions: regional sales manager, marketing manager, and manager of food safety and quality assurance. Further improvements in the survey, according to the release, include job descriptions and an expanded section on employee benefit practices.
The compensation survey will be prepared by the research firm Industry Insights, partnering with the United Fresh Foundation, according to the release. The survey will measure compensation and benefits for 33 full-time positions in the produce industry, with data from produce companies in the U.S. and Canada.
“Our economy has changed tremendously since we first launched this survey in 2011,” Victoria Backer, United Fresh senior vice president of member services, said in the release. “This year’s compensation tool will help our members understand the current industry landscape, so they can ensure their competitiveness in the marketplace.”
Backer said in the release that the survey will also give companies insight about benefit practices and current expenditures on health care amid rising industry concerns about health insurance costs.
The compensation report will give produce companies the ability to compare their salaries against other companies across multiple business sectors, geography, ownership type and other variables.
Companies that participate in submitting data for the survey can purchase a customized report for their company at a discounted rate of $195, according to the release. Others can order a survey report for $495 for United Fresh members and $695 for non-members. Contact Victoria Backer at United Fresh for more information, 202 303-3400, ext. 408.
