The United Cranberry Growers Cooperative, Wausau, Wis., has hired Tim Feit as executive director.

Feit will be the first executive director for the cooperative.

FeitFeit comes to the cooperative after serving as director of promotions at the Wisconsin Potato and Vegetable Growers Association, according to a news release.

“Many of the challenges facing independent cranberry growers are similar to those facing growers in the potato and vegetable industry,” Feit said in the release. “I look forward to working with UCGC members to seek out opportunities that will allow them to remain economically sustainable,”

The cooperative of independent cranberry growers was created in June 2010.

“It has been almost two years since a group of ten Wisconsin cranberry growers decided to start the cooperative,” chairwoman Linda Prehn said in a release. “Now that we have Tim on board as our executive director we look forward to working together to help independent cranberry growers earn a fair price for their crop.”
