With the completion of a plant expansion, fresh-cut apple giant Cashmere, Wash.-based Crunch Pak can now produce 1 million pounds of sliced apples per week.
The expansion added 39,000 square feet of processing and loading facility space to Crunch Pak’s Cashmere plant, according to a company news release.
Half of the new space will be used for finished product storage and shipping, half for processing. In addition to the new space, the expansion included construction of six new loading docks.
An additional 50 employees will be hired to handle the added production, bringing the company’s total workforce at the plant to 800.
