Crunch Pak has leased space for a year on a 10-foot-by-90-foot electronic billboard in New York City’s Times Square.
The first ad for the Cashmere, Wash.-based company’s sliced apple products is expected to run in late May, according to a news release. It will appear more than 17,000 times over the lease.
“We have the flexibility to tell all the many stories we have in 15-second increments,” Tony Freytag, senior vice president of sales and marketing, said in the release.
For Crunch Pak it’s an opportunity to market to the estimated 547 million annual visitors to Times Square, plus local shoppers. In New York City the products’ retailers include Shoprite, King Kullen, Target, Walmart and Costco, and are available for delivery through FreshDirect.
At 1541 Broadway, the billboard is the only bidirectional screen in Times Square.
“(It) is the only screen that you can see from all corners of the square due to its unique bowtie-shaped design,” Freytag said. Some television exposure for the billboard is also expected during the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day parade.
The sliced apple products are sold in about 18,000 stores nationwide.
“This campaign is our opportunity to show our retail partners that we support them by doing what we can to build awareness for Crunch Pak as a national brand,” Freytag said in the release.
