Crunch Pak is adding a new variety — blue raspberry — to its Flavorz line of sliced apple products to coincide with the June 21 debut of the Disney Pixar movie, “Monsters University.”

Blue raspberry Flavorz will be on display May 14-16 at United Fresh in San Diego, according to a news release.

The Cashmere, Wash.-based company will be at booth 745. The Flavorz line, aimed at children, launched at last year’s United Fresh show in three varieties: peach-mango, grape, and strawberry vanilla cream.

The product comes in a multipack clamshell of five 2-ounce snacks.

Packages of blue raspberry Flavorz will feature the Sulley and Mike characters from “Monsters University.” Peach-mango come with Disney characters Phineas and Ferb; grape features Mickey Mouse and friends; and strawberry vanilla cream has the Disney Princess characters.

“Our goal is to bring the fun and magic of Disney-Pixar characters to the healthy snacking category,” Tony Freytag, Crunch Pak senior vice president of sales and marketing, said in the release.

Samples of the company’s full Disney line will be offered at United Fresh’s general session at each table as part of its sponsorship.

Flavorz and Salad Kitz, another new item, are finalists for the New Fruit Product and New Packaging award at United Fresh.
