C.H. RobinsonOn July 26, Cub Foods and Robinson Fresh showcased their Guinness World Record-breaking watermelon display. The display is located at Cub Foods in Maple Grove, Minn.Cub Foods and Robinson Fresh partnered to break the Guinness World Record for Largest Fruit Display.
On July 26, visitors sampled MelonUp! Pink Ribbon watermelons at Cub Foods in Maple Grove, Minn, and participated in watermelon-themed contests. The display is about 1,500 square feet in area and has about 10,200 watermelons, weighing around 157,000 pounds. The previous record was 11,023 pounds, according to a news release.
“We value and appreciate Cub Foods and Supervalu’s support of the Pink Ribbon Watermelon program,” Josh Knox, category general manager at Robinson Fresh, said in the release. “The program began with the intention of educating consumers about the multitude of health benefits that watermelon can provide, and has developed into a fun and collaborative way for retailers to give back to and raise awareness within their communities.”
