England, who started Dec. 1, was previously president of Georgetown, Texas-based Justus Foods for about three years.
Earlier he spent about eight years in two stints with Birmingham, Ala.-based Bruno’s Supermarkets, the last two as senior vice president of marketing and perishable merchandising.
“We used to do quite a bit of business with Ray when he was at Bruno’s,” said John Forry, principal at D.J. Forry Co. “We became good friends and I thought he was a good fit for us to handle our retail development and marketing.”
England succeeds Brian Haley at D.J. Forry.
His experience also included running a consulting business, Alliance Fresh Produce Solutions.
“The opportunity to work with a family oriented company like D.J. Forry to develop go to market strategies geared to work in today’s environment feels right as the logical next step for me, my family and my career,” England said in a news release.
