Deardorff Family Farms, Oxnard, Calif., is expanding its organic vegetable production this fall and winter and has named Tyler Clear to its organic sales staff.
The new volume will be coming out of California’s Ventura County and Imperial Valley, plus Mexico.
Clear comes to Deardorff after a stint with Organically Grown Co., Portland, Ore. Earlier he was with Albert’s Organics. He was part of the Produce Marketing Association Foundation for Industry Talent emerging leaders program in 2013, and serves on the PMA Fresh Summit committee.
“Our focus for the past two years was on building programs that ensure Deardorff Organics has the highest quality organic vegetables every day,” Luke Patruno, organic sales manager, said in a new release. “With that now in place, we are scaling our programs to meet our customers’ demand for additional supplies.”
Deardorff Family Farms launched its Deardorff Organics line in 2006. Products ship throughout the U.S. and Canada.
“Our organic department is taking off at the same time we found a passionate, young and extremely knowledgeable salesperson in Tyler to join our staff,” Tom Deardorff II, president, said in the release.
