DeltaTrak Inc. plans to showcase its new USB data logger at the Produce Marketing Association’s Fresh Summit Oct. 18-19.
The FlashLink Cold Chain Export USB data logger is a single-use, in-transit device designed specifically with export shipments in mind, according to a news release from the Pleasanton, Calif., company.
FlashLink can track products from the packing shed to the dock, from port to port and on to warehouses and distribution centers.
Temperature data can be accessed via a USB port on a computer using free FlashPDF software, according to the release. No reading devices, cradles, adapters or other equipment are needed.
“The FlashLink Cold Chain Export USB data logger can be downloaded at any stop along a shipping route, to check temperature data and make sure produce hasn’t been exposed to adverse conditions,” president and CEO Frederick Wu said in the release.
“The logger can be downloaded an unlimited number of times and will keep recording temperature all the way to its final destination. It doesn’t stop logging until the memory is full.”
FlashLink provides access to data 24/7 from anywhere in the world via a secure account on ColdTrak Data Central, DeltaTrak’s cloud-based service, according to the release.
