California citrus grower-shipper Sun Pacific Marketing has hired Bob DiPiazza, former senior officer at Dominick’s and Sam’s Club, as president.

DiPiazza, a past chairman of the Produce Marketing Association and The Packer’s Produce Marketer of Year in 1992, has worked with Sun Pacific for the past four years managing the company’s product development, marketing and business development through his business, DiPiazza Consulting Services, according to a news release.

At Sun Pacific, he leads sales and marketing, working with farming and packing operations. He reports to Berne and Barney Evans, directors of Sun Pacific Cos., according to the release.

“Bob has been instrumental in growing our business over the last four years and has brought a keen understanding of consumers and retail operations to our organization,” said Berne Evans, chairman of the Sun Pacific Cos., in the relase.

“We have asked Bob to organize and position our organization for accelerated growth in the years to come.”

Sun Pacific markets Cuties brand mandarins and other citrus, as well California table grapes, tomatoes and kiwifruit, according to the release.
