Dole salad recalled in Canada

Courtesy Canadian Food Inspection AgencyDole Fresh Vegetables Inc. is recalling Dole’s Italian Blend salad in Canada due to possible listeria contamination. No illnesses had been reported as of the morning of March 13.

Canadian Food Inspection Agency test results led to the voluntary recall.

The salad was distributed in Ontario, Quebec, New Brunswick and possibly other provinces, according to the agency.

The 10-ounce product has a best-before date of March 14 and a universal product code of 071430008195.

Dole Fresh Vegetables is based in Monterey, Calif. Consumers with questions can call Dole Food Co. at 800-356-3111.

my opinion is that this unfortunate events have to do with laziness & greed with an individual or a department within this supply chain; How else would you forego to take the necessary steps to avoid something that CAN be avoided?
