Dole Food Co. has launched a website redesign aimed at optimizing and easing use on multiple platforms, notably tablets and smartphones.

The new look went live Jan. 16 and is the result of a year-long collaboration between Dole and Santa Monica, Calif.-based Blitz, a digital agency.

“The new allows us to present a consistent brand identity across our entire online experience,” Michael Contreras, Dole’s digital marketing manager, said in a news release. “The updated site also provides each of the Dole divisions with the flexibility that they need to customize their individual web presence.”

The new layout is also designed to prompt viewers to share content on social media sites like Facebook, Twitter and Pinterest.

“We collected feedback from our customers and used that to create a site that is easier to use, has richer product information and aims to help people live healthier lives,” Marty Ordman, Dole’s vice president of marketing and corporate communications, said in the release
