Excellent weather has produced a high-quality cherry crop thus far for Yakima, Wash.-based Domex Superfresh Growers.
In a June 16 video crop update, Dave Gleason, Domex’s chief horticulturist, said warm days and cool nights are yielding excellent quality, and an early start should translate into an extended harvest.
“We’re excited about this year,” Gleason said. “The color is developing, the flavor is excellent. Crop loads are great.”
Domex expects to harvest cherries well into August, Gleason said.
