Domex reports “vintage” apple cropYakima, Wash.-based Domex Superfresh Growers has a “vintage” apple crop this year, chief horticulturalist Dave Gleason said in an Aug. 25 company video.

With no major weather incidents this summer, Domex expects excellent quality, abundant volumes and a wide range of sizes, Gleason said.

Domex is harvesting more apples this season with two-tiered moving platforms and fewer apples with ladders, Gleason said.

With the platforms, Domex has noticed less bruising on apples, and workers aren’t as tired, he said.
