To mark its new year-round commitment to its Meyer lemon program, Duda Farm Fresh Foods has created materials for retailers that include point-of-sale recipes.
Duda’s senior vice president Mark Bassetti said in a news release that increasing consumption and consumer demand for the lemon variety spurred the Oviedo, Fla.-based company to expand its grower partnerships to include producers in New Zealand.
“When demand is driving consumption, you find a way to get the product when it is out of season,” Bassetti said in the release.
Category data and online sales kits for retailers are available on the Duda website at www.dudafresh.com.
Also in response to demand, Duda is expanding its citrus category with year-round clementines and oranges from Chile and minneolas from Peru, according to the release. Recent approval of citrus imports from Uruguay will also boost Duda’s year-round citrus program from March through October.
