McGuiganJohn McGuigan, vice president of sales and marketing since fall 2008 at Dulcinea Farms LLC, was promoted to general manager effective July 1.

McGuigan succeeds Luzius Caviezel who returns to the Switzerland-based parent company, Syngenta AG, said Monique McLaws, Dulcinea’s director of marketing.

“The moves are due in part to strategic changes within the parent company where Luzius will be managing some of the new strategies,” she said. “John’s promotion recognizes the notable growth and success of our sales and marketing department since his arrival.”

In addition to the duties of his new post, McGuigan will continue to oversee sales and marketing, McLaws said.

Among other changes at Ladera Ranch, Calif.-based Dulcinea Farms, McLaws will add new product development to her marketing responsibilities, she said, while Tessa Sarrazin has been promoted to director of operations. Sarrazin also will continue as director of finance and accounting, McLaws said.

Dulcinea Farms grows, packs and markets PureHeart mini seedless watermelons, Tuscan-style cantaloupes and proprietary varieties of HoneyBliss and Ruby Bliss melons in addition to specialty tomatoes.
