The Eastern Produce Council has formed a Women’s Leadership Committee that will convene later this year.
The Short Hills, N.J.-based council announced the new committee will be chaired by Theresa Lowden, executive vice president of JOH Produce Mid Atlantic Inc., a division of the Johnson O’Hare Companies, according to a news release from the group.
“I am truly excited and believe that this added committee will only enhance and make the EPC organization stronger.” Lowden said in the release. “I look forward to the opportunity and bringing something new and exciting to the organization.”
Paul Kneeland, Eastern Produce Council President and vice president of produce, floral, seafood and meat for Kings Food Markets, said in the release that the committee will help the council become a more “engaged organization.”
“Theresa and her committee will help bring additional focused programming to the EPC and help create a model for other organizations around the country,” he said in the release.
The first meeting of the EPC Women’s Leadership Committee will be this summer and the entire committee will be announced before the September 10 Eastern Produce Council meeting, according to the release.
