The event, set for May 13, will feature a tour of the market, a cocktail reception, a dinner and a keynote address by retired Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Ron Jaworski, according to a news release from the Short Hills, N.J.-based council.
This is the second time the council has met at the Philadelphia market.
“We are thrilled to be back in Philadelphia,” Paul Kneeland, the council’s president, said in the release. “The Philadelphia Wholesale Produce Market is a state-of-the-art facility that is critical to the produce industry in the greater Philadelphia area and beyond.”
Sonny DiCrecchio, the market’s president and chief executive officer, also looked forward to the event.
“We welcome the Eastern Produce Council back to Philadelphia,” DiCrecchio said in the release. “The last meeting drew over 240 guests and visitors. We are very excited to have a bigger and better event planned for May.”
