Misionero Vegetables marked its 40th anniversary and an expansion of its Gonzales, Calif., facilities with a ribbon cutting, barbecue and music.
“The plant expansion is a combination of cooler space and processing and it has increased our sales by 40%,” said Mayra Marin, sales and marketing assistant.
Misionero Vegetables president and chief executive officer Steven Griffin and Monterey County supervisor Simon Salinas cut the ribbon. Gonzales mayor Maria Orozco was among the guests at the July event.
Misionero Vegetables was founded in 1973 by Floyd Griffin. It sells certified organic and conventional products under the Earth Greens and Garden Life brands domestically and internationally.
