The Food and Drug Administration has reorganized its food safety website for easier access.

Visitors to the agency’s food homepage, will see changes in the main navigation bar. New section title divide food-related content into new categories to help users find information quicker, according to a news release.

In the new format, information is consolidated by topics in the Guidance Documents & Regulatory Information section.

Information about food allergens, previously spread out across several sections, is consolidated in a separate section, under “Ingredients, Packaging and Labeling”.

Information about specific food products and safe food handling is in the “Buy, Store & Serve Safe Food” section under “Foodborne Illness & Contaminants,” according to the release.

Hot issues are included in a “Popular Topics” category, based on the most frequently searched topics in the food section.
