Through Nov. 15, the Arlington, Va.-based organization is accepting entries in five categories: Healthy Meals, Family Meals, Ethnic Meals, Dessert and Side-Dishes/Mini Meals/Snacks.
Twenty-five finalists will be chosen from entrants to compete in front of a panel of celebrity judges at the FMI Connect convention June 14 in Chicago.
“Through the friendly competition of last year’s first-ever Supermarket Chef Showdown, FMI cast a deserving spotlight on the culinary expertise found in neighborhood supermarkets across America, as Supermarket Chefs share their menu creativity, flavor findings and kitchen skills with grocery shoppers every day,” said Leslie Sarasin, FMI president and chief executive officer, in a news release.
Chefs must incorporate ingredients from a predetermined list. For entry information, and ingredient list, visit www.SupermarketChefShowdown.com.
