The Fresh Produce & Floral Council, La Mirada, Calif., is starting a market report for its members.

The FPFC worked with industry volunteers and Fusion Marketing, Chatsworth, Calif., for its report, according to an FPFC news release. The report gives sales figures and analysis for all items in the fruit and vegetable categories — for the entire state of California and for four of its key markets, Los Angeles, Sacramento, San Diego, and San Francisco.

The report also gives comparison data on fixed-weight product, organic items and nonproduce items like dressings, juices and nuts.

The report is only available to FPFC members. It covers the period of a year, ending April 24 of this year. Another report with newer data is expected in October, and a third report will cover the 2011 calendar year. In 2012, reports will be based on quarterly data.
