FirstFruits receives community service award

The Association of Washington Business gave FirstFruits Marketing of Washington, LLC a community service award for financially supporting a resettlement mission in Honduras.

FirstFruitsMel Russell, Aldercreek Vineyards, Dorothy Koboski, FirstFruits Marketing, Nicole Eglin, FirstFruits Marketing, Melissa Furneaux, FirstFruits Marketing, and Tony Umek, Fluor Federal Services, Inc. at the Association of Washington Business awards ceremony.FirstFruits was one of eight employers in Washington, and the only employer in the produce category, to receive an award for its commitment to community service.

The awards recognize member companies across the state of Washington that contribute and volunteer to make communities better places.

The awards ceremony was May 13 in Spokane, Wash.

“AWB members give back to their communities in countless ways, donating time, supplies and expertise. These award winners exemplify that spirit of generosity and enterprise,” said AWB President Kris Johnson, in a news release. “Washington is a stronger, more vibrant place because of employers like these.”

“I am proud to work for people like Ralph and Cheryl Broetje who are so committed to giving back,” stated Dorothy Koboski of FirstFruits Marketing, in the release. “I am thankful they provide the opportunity for their employees to be a part it.”
