Florida Governor Rick Scott literally went to work at an Indian River citrus packinghouse.
Part of his “Let’s Get to Work” program, Scott spent May 2 at Vero Beach, Fla.-based IMG Citrus Inc.
The governor started work early in the morning picking valencia oranges at IMG’s Fellsmere, Fla., grove and rode to the packinghouse in the truck carrying the fruit, said Matt Kastensmidt, IMG’s domestic sales manager.
At the packinghouse, he worked many jobs including grading, packing and bagging fruit and stacking cartons.
Scott also had lunch with packinghouse employees in the break room.
