Jef Pryor, a foodservice industry veteran, has joined the Eagle-based Idaho Potato Commission as foodservice promotions director for the Southeast.

Pryor will lead marketing outreach to distributors and produce specialists in his territory, conduct Idaho potato product seminars and educational sessions, and represent the commission at foodservice trade shows, according to a news release.

He will work with Don Odiorne, foodservice vice president, and succeeds Ray Hepler, who is retiring after 16 years.

Before joining the commission, Pryor spent 25 years leading produce procurement for Quality Foods Inc., Little Rock, Ark., and then Richmond, Va.-based Performance Food Service once it acquired Quality Foods in April 2002.

In that role, he was responsible for produce purchasing, education, sales training and customer support.

Pryor also was a regional sales manager at Sysco and a territory sales manager for Fort Worth, Texas-based Ben E. Keith.

He is a graduate of Arkansas State University, Jonesboro.
