Fresh Fruit Cuts, Fresno, Calif., earned a nomination for this year’s Produce Marketing Association Impact Award. The company’s Woot Froot sliced peaches and nectarines have only been on the market a few months and are already receiving recognition.
Fresh Fruit Cuts responded to research in consumer trends, indicating that convenient, fresh-cut snacks continue to gain popularity.
The comapny then paired with Full Tilt Marketing to create the “Woot Froot” brand. The stonefruits are packaged in three ounce trays, 18 ounce trays and in bulk for foodservice.
“It has been a whirlwind of a year transitioning from R&D to becoming a commercial processor and seeing our products in market for the first time,” said president Kim Gaarde in a news release.
Fresh Fruit Cuts returns to the produce department in January, during the Chilean stonefruit season. Year-round production starts in June.
